Sri Swami Charitra Saramrit English Translation Chapter 18

Shree Swami Samarth, my salutations to all Swami devotees. Today we are going to learn about Sri Swami Charitra Saramrit Chapter Eighteen.

In the previous chapter the author has narrated the life biography of Sri Swamisuta. He devoted his entire life to the service of Sri Swami. He toured all over India and established a banner named Shri Swami. Sri Swami’s message spread far and wide. and attained the state of Nirvana. The throne of Mumbai became vacant. And the narrator begins to narrate the next i.e. the eighteenth chapter.

Now who should be appointed as an officer on the throne of Swamisuta? Servants started asking Sri Swami questions about this. Then Sri Swami said to the devotees, All the disciples are well prepared. But there is something lacking in everyone. So we will not tell the current about who is suitable for the throne of Mumbai right now. We will appoint a suitable officer on Swamisuta’s throne as and when it comes to our mind. Till then no one should worry.

Shri Swami used to say Mor Pankhara, Mor Pankhara day and night. And used to shout loudly and do strange things. Once Sri Swami says to Kakubai, you have hidden the brick for our foundation. Take good care of her. And Sri Swami often shows the same phrase to Kakubai whenever she appears.

Once Shree Swami says to Kakubai, the brick you have hidden for our foundation should be given to us. But Kakubai did not understand the meaning of this sentence. He asked many servants the meaning of this sentence, but no one was able to interpret this sentence.

Swamisuta’s younger brother Dada was living in Konkan at that time. He understands the news of Swamisuta’s death. He was very slim in body. And was getting thinner and thinner. They are ignorant because of their fickle nature. Kakubai gets worried about Dada so she brings Dada to Akkalkot. And one day he arranges a meeting of Shri Swami with Dada. And started asking questions about Dada’s health improvement.

Then Sri Swami ordered Kakubai, that the baby will get good health. But feed it four times a day. Do not have any kind of worry in your mind. As soon as Kakubai did so, Dada regained good health. When there is grace of Sri Swami, there are no diseases and disorders of any kind.

Named Nanasaheb, a devotee of Shri Swami was living in Kjegavi Moglai. He had spent a lot of money and established Sri Swami’s Math. He was once commanded by Sri Swami to establish in Sri Swami’s Paduka Math. For that, Nanasaheb comes to Akkalkot to see Shri Swami.

Then Sri Swami says to Kakubai, bring Dada here for our meeting. To be established in the Paduka Math. Then Kakubai says, he is ignorant and dissatisfied with his body. Tell me who will take care of him. Then Sri Swami says, you send him, we will take care of him. Then Kakubai says, can you say that. We will do what we think is best this time.

Finally, Dada along with the attendants return to Akkalkot after establishing Paduka in the Math. Then Shri Swami orders the servants to place Dada on the throne of Bombay. Give Dada Swaminsuta’s kafni, zholi and nishan and make Gosavi. And this should be given to run the throne of Swaminsuta.

Kakubai protested for these things in many ways. Finally the Brahmacharyas sent Dada from Mumbai to Akkalkota. Then Sri Swami ordered Bhujanga to take these shoes of mine and place them on Dada’s head. Bhujanga did so and what a miracle, as Sri Swami’s paduka fell on Dada’s head, Dada’s mind was lifted. All the ignorance went away and the Ganga of knowledge started flowing from the heart. And Dada became wholeheartedly devoted to Sri Swami.

Seeing this, Kakubai is shocked. And they say to Sri Swami, why are you keeping padukas on Dada’s head? Then Sri Swami says, we are doing the right thing so don’t talk in vain. Then Kakubai makes a fuss there but Sri Swami does not pay attention to her.

The next day Sri Swami turns Dada into a Gosavi and sends Dada to fetch alms. Then Sri Swami lovingly calls Dada near and says, this is Kakubai Anusaya Mata. First of all, you should ask her for alms. Then Dada Kakubai comes near. Kakubai was very sad. Then Dada says to Kakubai, from now on I despise these worldly pleasures.Kakubai gets sadder after hearing this from her son. And later on Dada Swamisuta’s throne runs the institution of Mumbai. Thus the author concludes this eighteenth chapter by narrating the biography of Dada. Sri Swami Samarth, Jai Jai Swami Samarth ||

श्री स्वामी समर्थ, सर्व स्वामी भक्तांना माझा नमस्कार. आज आपण श्री स्वामी चरीत्र सारामृत अध्याय अठरावा या बद्दल जाणून घेणार आहोत.
मागील अध्यायात ग्रंथकाराने श्री स्वामीसुतांच्या जीवन चरित्राचे कथन केले आहे. त्यांनी आपले संपूर्ण आयुष्य श्री स्वामी सेवेत अर्पण केले. सर्व भारतभर भ्रमण करून श्री स्वामी नामाची पताका स्थापन केली. श्री स्वामींचा संदेश चहूबाजूंना पसरवला. आणि निर्वाण अवस्था प्राप्त करून घेतली. मुंबईची गादी रिकामी झाली. आणि ग्रंथकार पुढील म्हणजेच अठराव्या अध्यायाचे कथन करण्यास सुरुवात करतात.

आता स्वामीसुतांच्या गादीवर कोणाला अधिकारी म्हणून नेमावा? या बद्दलचे प्रश्न सेवेकरी श्री स्वामींना विचारु लागले. तेव्हा श्री स्वामी सेवेकर्याना म्हणत, सर्व शिष्य चांगल्या तयारीचे आहेत. पण प्रत्येका मध्ये काही ना काही उणीव आहे. त्यामुळे मुंबईच्या गादीसाठी कोण योग्य आहे या‌बद्दलचे वर्तमान आम्ही आत्ताच सांगणार नाही. जेव्हा आमच्या मनात येईल त्यावेळी आम्ही स्वामीसुतांच्या गादीवर योग्य अधिकारी नेमू. तो पर्यंत कोणीही कोणतीच काळजी करू नये.
श्री स्वामी रात्रंदिवस मोर पांखरा, मोर पांखरा असे म्हणत असत. आणि मोठमोठ्याने ओरडून विचित्र चाळे करत असत. एकदा श्री स्वामी काकुबाईंना म्हणतात, तू आमच्या पायाची वीट लपवून ठेवली आहेस. तीचा नीट सांभाळ कर. आणि श्री स्वामी अनेकदा जेव्हा जेव्हा काकुबाई दिसतात तेव्हा तेव्हा हेच वाक्य काकुबाईंना म्हणून दाखवतात.

एकदा श्री स्वामी काकुबाईंना म्हणतात, तू जी आमच्या पायाची वीट लपवून ठेवली आहेस, ती आम्हाला दिली पाहिजे. पण या वाक्याचा अर्थ काकुबाईंना काही समजत नव्हता. तीने अनेक सेवेकर्याना या वाक्याचा अर्थ विचारला, पण कोणीही या वाक्याचा अर्थ लावण्यास समर्थ ठरला नाही.
स्वामीसुताचा लहान भाऊ दादा त्यावेळी कोकणात रहात होता. स्वामीसुतांच्या मृत्यूची वार्ता त्यांना समजते. ते शरीराने खुपच सडपातळ होते. आणि अधिकच कृष होत चालले होते. ते चंचल स्वभावाचे असल्यामुळे अज्ञानी होते. काकुबाईंना दादांची खूप काळजी वाटू लागल्याने ते दादांना अक्कलकोटला घेऊन येतात. आणि एक दिवस श्री स्वामींची दादांबरोबर भेट घडवून आणतात. आणि दादांची तब्येत सुधारणा बद्दल प्रश्न करु लागले.

तेव्हा श्री स्वामींनी काकुबाईंना आज्ञा केली, की बाळास चांगले आरोग्य प्राप्त होईल. परंतु रोज चार वेळेस याला जेऊ घाल. मनात कोणत्याही प्रकारची चिंता बाळगू नकोस. काकुबाईंनी तसे करताच दादांना चांगले आरोग्य प्राप्त झाले. श्री स्वामींची जेव्हा कृपा होते तेव्हा कोणत्याही प्रकारचे‌ आजार आणि विकार रहात नाहीत.
नानासाहेब नावाचे, श्री स्वामींचे भक्त केजेगावी मोगलाईत रहात होते. त्यांनी पुष्कळ पैसे खर्च करून श्री स्वामींचा मठ स्थापीला होता. श्री स्वामींच्या पादुका मठात स्थापन करायची आज्ञा त्यांना श्री स्वामींनी एकेकाळी केली होती. त्यासाठी नानासाहेब श्री स्वामींच्या दर्शनाला अक्कलकोटला येतात.

तेव्हा श्री स्वामी काकुबाईंना म्हणतात, दादाला आमच्या भेटीसाठी इथे आण. पादुका मठात स्थापन करायच्या आहेत. तेव्हा काकुबाई म्हणतात, तो अज्ञान आहे तशात तो शरीराने असमाधानी आहे. मला सांगा त्याची काळजी कोण घेणार. तेव्हा श्री स्वामी म्हणतात, तू पाठवून दे, त्याला आम्ही सांभाळू. तेव्हा काकुबाई म्हणतात, तुम्हाला असे म्हणण्यास जाते काय. यावेळी आम्हाला जे भले वाटते तेच आम्ही करू.
शेवटी सेवेकर्यां सोबत दादा, मठात पादुका स्थापन करून अक्कलकोटला परत येतात. तेव्हा श्री स्वामी सेवेकर्याना आज्ञा करतात की, दादाला मुंबईच्या गादीवर बसवा. दादाला स्वामींसुताची कफनी, झोळी आणि निशान देऊन गोसावी बनवा. आणि याला स्वामींसुताची गादी चालवण्यास द्यावी.

           काकुबाईंनी या गोष्टींसाठी अनेक प्रकारे विरोध केले. शेवटी ब्रह्मचार्यांनी दादास  मुंबईहून अक्कलकोटास पाठवले. तेव्हा श्री स्वामींनी भुजंगास आज्ञा केली की, ह्या माझ्या पादुका घे आणि दादाच्या डोक्यावर ठेव. भुजंगाने तसे केले आणि काय चमत्कार, श्री स्वामींच्या पादुका दादाच्या शीरी पडताच दादाच्या मनास उपरती झाली. सर्व अज्ञान लयास जाऊन हृदयातुन ज्ञानगंगा वाहू लागली. आणि दादा‌ श्री स्वामींस पूर्ण हृदयाने समर्पित झाला.
          हे पाहून काकुबाई मनात दचकतात. आणि श्री स्वामींना म्हणतात, हे काय विपरीत करता, दादाच्या डोक्यावर पादुका का म्हणून ठेवत अहात? तेव्हा श्री स्वामी म्हणतात, आम्ही योग्य तेच करत आहोत त्यामुळे व्यर्थ बडबड करू नकोस. तेव्हा काकुबाई तिथे आकांडतांडव करतात पण श्री स्वामी तिच्याकडे लक्ष देत नाहीत.

दुसऱ्या दिवशी दादाला गोसावी बनवून श्री स्वामी दादास भिक्षा आणण्यासाठी पाठवतात. तेव्हा श्री स्वामी प्रेमाने दादाला जवळ बोलावतात आणि म्हणतात, ही काकुबाई अनुसया माता आहे. सर्वप्रथम तू हिच्याकडे भिक्षा माग. तेव्हा दादा काकुबाईं जवळ येतो. काकुबाईस फार दुःख होते. तेव्हा दादा काकुबाईंस म्हणतात, आजपासुन ही ऐहिक सुखे मला तुच्छ वाटत आहेत. पुत्राचे हे बोलणे ऐकून काकुबाई आणखीनच दु:खि होतात. आणि पुढे दादा स्वामीसुताच्या गादीवर बसून मुंबईची संस्था चालवतात. अशाप्रकारे ग्रंथकाराने दादाच्या चरित्राचे कथन करून या अठराव्या अध्यायाची समाप्ती केली आहे.
