Sri Swami Charitra Saramrit English Translation Chapter 19

Shree Swami Samarth, my salutations to all Swami devotees. Today we are going to learn about Sri Swami Charitra Saramrit Chapter Nineteen.
Authors say, if we listen to this chapter with a concentrated mind, we will attain divine knowledge. And that knowledge will facilitate the path of altruistic means. As a result, the mind becomes ecstatic and can swim through this ocean. At the beginning of this chapter, the writer has assured the listeners that liberation from the flesh will lead to salvation.
By saying this, the author begins the next story of the chapter. Sri Narasimha Saraswati, whose fame was spread everywhere in the famous Alandi area, became a righteous man. He visited many holy places on the banks of Krishna river. Met Mahasadhus who had knowledge of many types of yoga practices.
With the desire to practice hatha yoga in his mind, he wandered from place to place in search of a guru. He saw the knowledge of many, followed the footsteps of many but all efforts were in vain. No one could properly guide Nrisimha Saraswati as Hatha yoga practice was very difficult.
One day after hearing the glories of Shri Swami, he felt a strong desire to meet Shri Swami and he came to Akkalkot. Sri Swami already knew the reason behind Nrisimha Saraswati’s arrival. As Sri Swami appeared, Sri Swami recited a verse of the Ajnachakra Bhedanta. Narasimha Saraswati got samadhi as soon as he heard the verse. Breathing through Brahmarandhra, the body became unconscious. Everyone gathered was very surprised.
After some time the Samadhi of Nrisimha Saraswati came down. And as soon as he came to his senses, he ran and hugged Sri Swami’s feet tightly. Shri Swami became ecstatic with Darshan. He said that he tried hard to learn Hatha Yoga but all his efforts were in vain. Today by your grace my wish is fulfilled. All worries were removed and the task was accomplished.
After a few days, Nrisimha Saraswati returned to Alandi with Sri Swami’s orders. Since Siddhi was pleased, he performed many religious deeds. Narasimha Saraswati’s fame spread far and wide. One day he comes to Akkalkot again to see Sri Swami. Seeing Gurumurthy, Nrisimha Saraswati stands forward with folded hands. Then Shri Swami said to him, ‘Why haven’t you left Siddhi yet? Eminence will be attained in the world only if one gives up achievement. And finally you will go to Surabhuvan happily.
Hearing this, the assembled people were surprised, why Sri Swami Nrisimha was asking Saraswati to do such a thing. But Narasimha Saraswati understood the cause of her original suffering and gave up the Siddhi at the command of Sri Swami. And again came to Alandi. Also there was a devotee among the devotees. His name was Yashwantrao Bhosekar. He was also known as Dev Maweldar by people. He also attained complete knowledge by the grace of Sri Swami.
At that time there was a noble Brahmin named Vasudeva Balwant Phadke. He had called a revolt against the British rule to gain independence. Hearing the glory of Sri Swami’s grace, they come to Akkalkot. And if you get a sword from the hands of Shri Swami, you will get success with the grace of Shri Swami. With this understanding, Vasudev Phadke puts the sword in front of Shri Swami and stands far away.
But there will be no success in this task as Sri Swami places that sword on the branch of a nearby tarva tree to suggest that this is not the right time. Vasudeva Phadaki understands what Sri Swami wants to suggest but calls for rebellion, considering the duty of first mother land as Shirasavandya. And history knows what happened next.
Also a Rajashrit Sardar lived in Akkalkot. His name was Tatyasaheb Bhosale. Day and night he used to meditate at the feet of Shri Swami and worship Bhajans. One day suddenly he got very scared because he saw Yama’s sword. He knew that his death was near. Then Tatya requested Sri Swami to avoid his death. Then Shri Swami ordered Yama, “Don’t even touch him, yes, he is my devotee.”
This bull is about to die, take him away. And what a surprise, the life of the bull immediately passed away and the bull collapsed on the ground. Thus the bull was freed and the lives of the fathers were saved.
Further, the author says, Sri Swami has performed many such Leelas. If all those Leelas are described here, this book will spread like an ocean. So I had to stop writing. Saying this, the author concludes this nineteenth chapter of Sri Swami Charitra Saramrita. Shri Swami Samarth, Jai Jai Swami Samarth
