Shri Swami Charitra Saramrit English Translation Chapter 9

Shri Swami Samarth, my greetings to all the devotees of shree Swami. Today we are going to know about Shri Swami Charitra Saramrit Adhyay Ninth.

In this chapter we will see. Shankarrao RajeRao Bahaddur reached Akkalkot with his beloved wife.

There are many places in Akkalkot, many devotees come here to see Shri Swami so that their wishes are fulfilled. Devotees of different religions like Brahmins, four varnas as well as Parshis, Yavans etc. are here for the darshan of Shri Swami. That’s why Swami place got the form of the fair.

Confused as to how he would get a glimpse of Sri Swami in such a crowd here, then Shankara Rao met Sundara Bai, the chief servant of the Math.

Sundara Bai was very greedy. But she was in Swami’s service only because of previous vertue. She was close to Sri Swami. Shankarao expressed his grief to Sundara Bai. And prayed about meeting Sri Swami.

As soon as Sundara Bai realized that Shankara Rao was a great and reached person, so greed arose in her heart. Sundara Bai asked Shankara Rao to promise that he would pay two thousand rupees after he got rid of the disease. But Shankarao agreed to pay ten thousand rupees and gave up his resolve.

According to Shankarao, he met Sri Swami. At that time Shri Swami was in Sheikh Nur Baba’s dargah. As Sundara Bai pleaded with Sri Swami to remove the hindrance of Shankara Rao’s Brahma Samandha, Sri Swami got up and lay down in the freshly dug grave. Then a servant said to Shankarao that Shri Swami missed your death by doing Leela.

Shri Swami asked Shankarao to divide ten black pepper seeds in a bitter lemon leaf and take that medicine regularly and said that your Samandha problem will be removed. Then Shankarao donated food to the fakirs and the people there. And offered a shroud to Sheikh Nur Saheb.

Then Shri Swami asked Shankarao not to pay Sundara Bai two thousand rupees. With that money, a Chunegachchi Math was built outside the village with the connivance of the devotees. Such an order was given to Shankarao by Shri Swami. The same Math is today known as Rajerai Math in Akkalkot. And here ends the ninth chapter of Sri Swami Charitra Saramrita. Within a few days, Shankara Rao was freed from all the problems and diseases. After some time, Shankarao came to Akkalkot to see Shri Swami. And told Shri Swami about his resolution to give ten thousand rupees after getting rid of his disease.

Then Shri Swami asked Shankarao not to pay two thousand rupees to Sundara Bai. With that money, a Chunegachchi Math was built outside the village with the connivance of the devotees. Such an order was given to Shankarao by Shri Swami. The same Math is today known as Rajerai Math in Akkalkot. And here ends the ninth chapter of Sri Swami Charitra Saramrita. अध्याय नववा

श्रीगणेशाय नम:।
घरोघरीं स्वामीकीर्तनें। नित्य होतीं ब्राह्मण-भोजनें।
स्वामी नामाचीं जप ध्यानें। अखंडीत चालतीं ॥1॥

दिगंतरीं गाजली ख्याती। कामना धरोनी चित्तीं।
बहुत लोक दर्शना येती। अक्कलकोट नगरांत ॥2॥

ब्राह्मण क्षत्रिय वैश्यादिक। शूद्र आणि अनामिक।
पारसी यवन भाविक। दर्शना येती धांवोनी ॥3॥

यात्रेची गर्दी भारी। सदा आनंदमय नगरी।
साधु संत ब्रह्मचारी। फकीर संन्यासी येती पैं ॥4॥

किती वर्णावें महिमान। जेथें अवतरलें परब्रह्म।
ते नगरीं वैकुंठधाम। प्रत्यक्ष भासूं लागली ॥5॥

असो ऐशा नगरांत। शंकरराव प्रवेशत।
आनंदमय झाले चित्त। समाधान वाटलें ॥6॥

जे होते स्वामीसेवक। त्यांत सुंदराबाई मुख्य।
स्वामीसेवा सकळिक। तिच्या हस्तें होतसे ॥7॥

व्याधी दूर करावी म्हणोनी। विनंती कराल स्वामीचरणीं।
तरी आपणालागोनी। द्रव्य कांहीं देईन ॥8॥

बाईसी द्रव्यलोभ पूर्ण। आनंदलें तियेचें मन।
म्हणे मी इतुकें करीन। दोन सहस्र रुपये द्याल कीं ॥9॥

ते म्हणती बाईसी। इतुकें कार्य जरी करिसी।
तरी दहा सहस्र रुपयांसी। देईन सत्य वचन हें ॥10॥

बाई विस्मित झाली अंतरीं। ती म्हणे हें सत्य जरी।
तरी उदक घेउनी करीं। संकल्प आपण सोडावा ॥11॥

शंकरराव तैसें करिती। बाई आनंदली चित्तीं।
म्हणे मी प्रार्थूनिया स्वामींप्रती। कार्य आपुलें करीन ॥12॥

बार्ई स्वामींसी बोले वचन। हे गृहस्थ थोर कुलीन।
परी पूर्वकर्में यांलागून । ब्रह्मसमंध पीडितो ॥13॥

तरी आतां कृपा करोनी। मुक्त करावें व्याधीपासोनी।
ऐसें ऐकतां वरदानीं। समर्थ तेथोनी ऊठले ॥14॥

यवनस्मशानभूमींत। आले यतिराज त्वरित।
एका नूतन खांचेंत। निजले छाटी टाकोनी ॥15॥

सेवेकरी शंकररावांसी। म्हणती लीला करुनी ऐशी।
चुकविलें तुमच्या मरणासीं। निश्चय मानसीं धरावा ॥16॥

शंकररावें तया दिवशीं। खाना दिधला फकिरांसी।
आणि शेखनुर दर्ग्यासी। एक कफनी चढविली ॥17॥

मग कांहीं दिवस लोटत। स्वामीराज आज्ञापित।
बारीक वांटुनी निंबपत्र। दहा मिरें त्यांत घालावीं ॥18॥

तें घ्यावें हो औषध। तेणें जाईल ब्रह्मसमंध।
जाहल्या स्वामीराज वैद्य। व्याधी पळे आपणची ॥19॥

प्रकृतीसी आराम पडला। राव गेले स्वनगराला।
कांहीं मास लोटता तयांला। ब्रह्मसमंधें सोडिलें ॥20॥

मग पुन्हा आनंदेसी। दर्शना आले अक्कलकोटासी।
घेउनी स्वामीदर्शनासी। आनंदित जाहले ॥21॥

म्हणती व्याधी गेल्यानंतर। रुपये देईन दहा सहस्र।
ऐसा केला निर्धार। त्याचें काय करावें ॥22॥

महाराज आज्ञापिती। गांवाबाहेर आहे मारुती।
तेथें चुनेगच्ची निश्चिती। मठ तुम्हीं बांधावा ॥23॥

ऐशिया एकांत स्थानीं। राहणार नाहीं कोणी।
ऐसी विनंती स्वामीचरणीं। कारभारी करिताती ॥24॥

सर्वांनुमतें तेथेंची। मठ बांधिला चुनेगच्ची।
किर्ती शंकररावांची। अजरामर राहिली ॥25॥

इति श्री स्वामीचरित्रसारामृत। नाना प्राकृत कथा संमत।
सदा परिसोत भाविक भक्त। नवमोध्याय गोड हा ॥26॥
